Could this be a side effect of meds?

Instead of three meals do six small ones I have been advised to do this.

Re: Weight Loss
I am on a yo-yo with my weight. Once, in the space of 14 months, I went from 230 pounds down to 150. My GI doctor threatened me by saying, "If you lose one more pound, I will put a feeding tube in your stomach." With the exception of a protein drink that I consume with my morning medications, I do not eat anything else until my wife prepares dinner. To gain weight, I consume a lot of sweets. Items include cream cheese danishes, poppy seed muffins, ice cream, malted milk balls, chocolate covered raisins, creme filled eclairs, cheese cake, et al. I always weigh myself dressed as I came into this world and right now I am about 176 pounds which makes my Primary Care Provider (PCP) very happy because with clothes on I weigh around 182.

Hey thanks so much. Yes helpful just to hear that you have experienced a similar situation. I will encourage my mum to be conscious of the weight loss and ensure she eats.... eats. .. eats!

I lost a significant amount of weight in the beginning as well. 20 pounds - got down to 107. I attributed it to PD and the meds - as I understand it, PD causes some weight loss all by itself - but I believe it was the Azilect that contributed to the additional weight loss. Honestly, I truly just lost my appetite and was focusing all of my energy on dealing with the whole ridiculous PD diagnosis! It wasn't until I went to put one of my suits on to attend a trade show for work that I realized I had lost quite a bit of weight - the pants wouldn't even stay up! To put weight back on I just ate whatever I wanted - stuck to the healthy stuff mostly,....except for the ice cream at 10pm! So bizarre because most people have always watched what they eat and work at keeping weight off - not the opposite. I also ate small meals all day - helps with energy level & helps with fatigue. I am now up to a healthy 119 - but it took a while to get there - at least a year. I hope that helps you at least a little bit - happy to chat more about it if you'd like. :)
