Hello; I had a DBS implanted 5 years ago, I didn't find it painful although you are awake for the operation but it isn't very comfortable especially 7 or 8 hours in that halo brace , designed to immobilise the head, but the first time you watch your tremoring hand just stop shaking and you can hold a cup of coffee without spilling it is worth it ... Re- DBS

I under went DBS in October2009 with successful out comes.
I had what my neurologist described as hyper dyskinesia.

Before the operation my mindset was, that if the dyskinesia,
can be reduced by 50%, then that would be no mean achievement.
Indeed I wasn't expecting miracles.

Due to the absolute genius of my neurosurgeon, the tremors and
erratic movements where reduced by almost 100%.

I have to say that the last eight years, since undergoing the DBS
procedure have been the best years of my life.

I had my DBS fitted in dec 2016. Was better than my knee replacemrnt surgery. Very little discomfort, paracetamol goid enough. Transformed my life. Now in thf trickh time of reducinb my meds and increasing dbd. Must be patent, patient! Life changing, ho gof it xx

I also had dbs implanted in december2016. It has been life chsnging. When it was turned on it msde me feel terrinlr so I am doing it myself at home. I am now at the dtage whrn i am reduvinb my meds and yurninb up the dbs. You havd to be patient! There is an immediate imrovement and then some frustrating times. I see the big chief next monday will report back x
