I was sent to Cedars-Sinai in 2011 for a DaT scan, covered by insurance. The ordering neurologist said that it showed I have Parkinson's, but the second opinion neurologist said that while it showed the differing levels of dopamine between the two sides of the brain, it did not necessarily mean Parkinson's.

I had A DAT scan last January which confirmed I had parkinson's or parkenism They really can't determine whether it's parkinson's or something mimicking parkinson's but definitely shown that I had deterioration of my dopamine levels. My insurance covered it

I have been on methylphenid (generic Ritalin) since learning this. I find it valuable in fatigue reduction.
