Does anyone have a cough, sneezing, runny nose? I carry tissue/Kleenex all the time because my nose is running, which leads to sneezing. And then I cough frequently, after drinking water or eating, especially.

I have a very runny nose and I know another lady with PD who also has a runny nose. It's nonstop running when I walk in the cold( I'm from Canada). Also when my levodopa pill does not last the four hours my nose swells up and I have to breathe through my mouth. I have a mild swallowing problem and when I was in rehab, after a back operation, not PD related, they would not let me have lettuce or bacon. Have had my throat dilated, but recently was told by family doctor that can be dangerous.PD has different symptoms for different people and and I think a runny nose can be one of them.

I do get a runny stream of clear mucus running from one nostril. I heard that it may come from acid reflux. Other times I think I have developed an allergy. I find that Febreeze has an allergen spray that helps me quite a bit. It maybe called AIR now, but it helped me.

This is Dave responding. Some people with PD have problems with swallowing and choking. Now I don't know about the runny nose and sneezing, but coughing could be connected with swallowing and choking. I would mention any new symptoms to your PD doctor because, as we all know, PD effects each of us differently. PD is so complicated it is known to be a real pain in the butt. A little humor doesn't hurt, right. Seriously, talk to your doctor. God bless you all.

I'm not sick, and I have no chest or sinus congestion. My doctor said she hears gurgling fluid just in my throat
