Do any of you experience heavy coughing especially at night or episodes of it during the day? Have above normal mucus in my mouth.

Unfortunately it does happen and certainly has happened to me. The excess saliva can cause excess coughing and it can cause you to feel like you are choking. On my next visit to my Neuro, I plan on asking him if I can have botox injections which can reduce the amount of saliva produced. I will let you know how I go.

Heavy mucus for sure. Mucinex helps some, but for me Benadryl works better. Also if taken an hour before bed it calms the cough a bit so sleep is possible. I've also found that Ricola cough drops help to dry saliva in the mouth. It also comes sugarless so as not to hurt teeth. Good luck! Keep the faith.

I belong to a PD singing group, The Tremble Clefs, in AZ our teacher, conductor, therapist told us to roll our tingues clockwise then anticlockwise 20 times then stick it out as far as you can. This seems to actually help reduce saliva production.
