When my husband was inpatient at Memorial rehab in Gulfport he was seen by Dr. Voulters (neurologist). I don't believe that he specialized in movement disorders but he does seem to treat Parkinson's regularly.

Apparently there are no neurologists who specialize in movement disorders in Mississippi. I live in southern Mississippi and travel to New Orleans to see Dr. Georgia Lea who is a movement disorders specialist with Ochsner Medical Center. I can't imagine better care or dedication. I posted the question after attending a Parkinson's Symposium Hosted by Dr. Lea. There are 4 in the New Orleans area. The mother of a colleague has to travel from central Mississippi to Mobile, AL to see a specialist. My concern is for those in Mississippi who do not have the resources to go outside the state. My own insurance will not cover medical care in MS and I do have the resources to venture outside state boundaries. Tired of seeing those less fortunate have to settle for less.
