I take two Sinemet 25/100's every two hours seven or eight times per day (eight if I go to bed late). That's fourteen or sixteen per day. I've never heard of a greater number. I don't change my dosage unless my neurologist /movement disorder specialist says I should
my husband is now on 10 tablets a day of C/L 25-100 given 2 1/2 tabs 4x daily - he is on peg tube or gTube feeding, all his meds needs to be ground (mortar and pestle) dissolved in water and administered thru a syringe. All other forms of PD meds - extended release C/L, comtan (entacapone) were stopped because these meds are not crushable/dissolvable. the positive outcome is that his mood changes stopped as well, he is more in control of his own emotions with regular formulation 25-100 C/L since August 2017. He had the peg tube gTube feeding because he could not swallow anymore - brought about by dysphagia (from PD) and complicated by spurs in the C3C4 level of the cervical spine that was pushing against his throat at the back.
I was started on 1 pill 3x day. Within a week after conferring with my doctor I was raised to 2 pills 3x day. About 2 weeks ago my spouse talked to the doctor because I had been having more symptoms around 10 pm. With that I guess I have been discussing things from my past 30+ years without realizing it. I was told to add 2 more Sinimet at 10pm along with 2 50mg primidone. I guess things have been better.
May I ask how long you've had PD For?
