I am scheduled for DBS surgery in October. In the meantime, I'm really struggling to get through my day on 10 Carbidopa Levodopa 25/100 tabs per day during my daytime hours. Has anyone here taken a higher dose without unbearable side effects?

My husband is on Rytary which is timed release and stays in the body longer. Are you able to try it? It can be expensive depending on your insurance. He has had to up his dosage several times over the years. His neurologist mentioned that there is a new thing like an inhaler that delivers quickly when there is an occasional need, but I forgot what it is called. Obviously, it could easily be overused, so I don't know if that is worth messing with. Best wishes for a speedy recovery in the fall!

Monique9 Our insurance is not the problem The letter stated that Medicare was the problem! But we are ok now because my husband worked for Los Angeles and found out a pharmacy Called Caremark and they picked it up! Scripts only come in the mail. It was a blessing in disguise! No more Wallgreens and CVS and extra! And our neurologist gave the order! Best wishes to all today Carmela La Torre Up date my picture!

I'm close to being maxed out at a prescription of 1 1/2 tablets 6X per day. I'm taking less: alternating 1 1/2 tablets 3X per day, and 1 tab 3X per day. A little more dyskinesia. It wears off before the next dose is due. I weigh about 150.
