Sinemet What Determines If You Should Take The Extended Release Form?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am taking Sinemet 25/100 mg. two tabs three times a day. I find the evening dose keeps me awake at night, if I take one tab at 7 pm and one at 11 pm I sleep better.

I take only one generic sinemet at night because I think it keeps me from sleeping.

One more comment. I have read that the extended release of a med like Sinemet, because there is no immediate surge in its release, can reduce the side affect of dyskinesia.

I too use the CBD oil. Not helpful. Smoking helps with my tremors and pain. It's something I never thought I would try but desperate times.

My husbands Neurologist asked him why he has his Sinemet set up to be included at bedtime when he is only sleeping. So he told him to take his 2pills 3x a day at 5hrs apart andnot to include at bedtime. He also gave him a low dose antidepressant for his REM / Dreams he has. His first dose being last night Unfortunately he was up until 5 this morning. This a first he has experienced insomnia. He never got drowsy after the med. It's all trial and error. What works for some may not for others. 😢
