I looked up the info on blepharitis and the symptoms seemed to fit what he was experiencing. We have been cleaning his eyes throughout the day with cotton pads and baby shampoo and using over the counter eye drops I also have been washing his hair with selsum blue dandruff shampoo. He said it has really made a difference his eyes no longer feel gritty and irritated. He still has a bit of them closing but seldom and when they do it last a minimal amount of time and he can open them easily. Prior to this they would get stuck for sometimes over 2 minutes. Good luck hope it helps

I have been cleaning his eyes with warm cotton pads and baby shampoo. After his eyes are cleaned we use over the counter eye drops. I have also been using a dandruff shampoo ( selsun blue) for his hair. It seems to be helping, his eyes are not feeling as gritty and all around they are feeling better.

Restasis may be the answer for you - it works for many people however, be sure your insurance covers it before you order from the pharmacy. It was $750 for a one-month supply when I tried it last year and it can take up to 6 months before you know if it's working. My problem eventually cleared up on its own but it's certainly worth speaking to an ophthamologist about.

He needs to see an Ophthalmologist (MD). PD causes us to blink less thus the eyes dry out & itch causing a possible infection. I put over the counter drops into both eyes 2 times a day and also prescription drops 2 times a day.
