My husband has had DBS and we have heard from other DBS people that their neurologist runs a test on their gait. Apparently something is attached to their arms, legs, and chest that sends messages electronically to the computer and gives information about their gait. Our neurologist has never done this and my husband's gait is very bad. Does anyone know of the name of this test and explain what it does because I think we need to look in to having it done.
My husband does Rock Steady Boxing.
I don't know your area, but here in Daytona Beach, we have exercise classes at the Advent Medical Center, YMCA water aerobics, and Rock Steady Parkinson's classes. Hope this my be helpful near your location. Best wishes.
Can you provide any info on physical therapists for PT in the Boynton Beach, FL area?
Thanks. KU Med in Kansas City does this test.
The normal procedure is call a gait assessment and is performed in a doctor's office. I know what you are talking about but I don't know where that test is available. Sorry I can't help you.
