It's No Longer Christmas, But I Enjoyed The Discussions This Question Has Generated So Much That I Don't Want To Delete It!

I was Mrs Claus for 9 years when I was married to this wonderful man. After the first year of being Santa in the mall (which is now torn down) his brother phoned on Christmas day & said "Well, are you done playing Santa for the year?" He answered "I don't Play Santa, I Am Santa!" And he was, 365 1/4 days of the year. Little kids would recognize him in the park in August, joyfully shout out "Santa!", run to him and shyly talk to him. He would always listen to their heart's desires & give them… read more

Boy, I'll have to think about that one.
How about Sassy, Glider, Skipper, Jupiter, Peanut, Cookie, Starburst, Blinky.
A book sounds like a wonderful idea.
I'm going to make a cookbook of all my recipes for my family.
Good luck and God Bless.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, it's the best movie. I have it out so often the neighbors probably think I live with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. My daughter loves it too; definitely a woman's movie!
Hugs,
Teresa

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - more similarities. My first husband was also abusive. He was not really a batterer, he only hit me one slug on two separate occasions. But he was emotionally abusive. He was an attorney and quite good at treating me as if I were the expert witness for the other side whom he needed to discredit. He was unfaithful to me from the very beginning of our marriage. I would have left him right away, but I had no way to take my horse with me. He sent me and our 2-year old son away one Christmas so he could quit drinking without having us around to be mean to. Instead, he killed my horse on Christmas day. I stayed with him so I could have a second child. When my boys were 7 & 11 and he had gotten rid of 5 more horses & my horse trailer, I left with my sons but came back after 2 years because I could not earn a living. When I met Joe, I divorced my first husband and married Joe. My second son has never forgiven me for leaving him his senior year in high school, and doesn’t speak to me to this day. Other than that, I can truly say that I have lived happily ever after! That was a picture of Ann Richards. I am not nearly so polished and sophisticated. Here I am dancing with my 3rd husband at a New Year’s dance for the developmentally disabled, whom I was working for at that time. Happy!

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - how fun to name them for people like Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers! Lots of Dancer's descendants, I would think! One of my favorite quotes about a woman who is a role model/heroine to me is when Ann Richards said “After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.”
Looking up that quote piqued my curiosity because I thought Ginger Rogers said that herself. So I Googled Ann Richards and found out that she was a schoolteacher who became a politician who served as a Travis County Commissioner, the Texas State Treasurer and the 45th Governor of Texas until a candidate who later became the president defeated her for the governorship. She delivered a nominating speech in her party's 1984 National Convention for a candidate who later became vice president, and delivered the keynote address in the 1988 convention. The media frequently noted her for her outspoken feminism and her one-liners. She remained active in public life until her death in 2006. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Richards
