Had episode of nightmare with screaming and cursing...scary cause I don’t remember and I don’t curse..frightened my hubby as he tried to wake me up but couldn’t....eventually I fell into a deep sleep..
Parkinson s idea of fun?
Has anyone experience an issue as this.....
Yes have experienced it, very scarey. I was very violent towards hubby. I had to drop one tablet, so instead of 4 a day I mange on 3, but pain can be dreadful, so I have to take an extra painkiller which I have been told are addictive, who cres Iam 71, not as if they are going to a cure tomorrow, plus I alo have pheripheral neuropathy, that's also extremely painful and no cure for it.
Yes, I used to get them nearly every night. Shouting, screaming swinging arms and legs. I even threw myself out of bed and crashed into telly in bedroom. Neuro put me on Clonzemepam to relax movement which helped but as they relaxed muscles I wet the bed twice so stopped taking them. Take Melatonin now and they are less frequent. Over stimulation from gadgets doesn't help either. Stress and worry make things worse.
I use to have bad dreams all the time. I also dreamed I was defending my father -in-law and started swinging my fist and hit my husband. I felt so terrible. I told him I would sleep in another room but he said no. H wants to keep watch over me. I also would scream during the night, so loud my son could hear me from his room. I have not done that in a while.
Yes. My husband started having nightmares approx 9 years ago.a few a year. Im a respiratory therapist and had to do seminars, one of them explained that lucid nightmares could be a precursor to PD,my husband had no other signs, but it stayed in my mind. This June my husband was diagnosed with early stage PD,no motor signs' little shuffling. The dreams are terrifying! He has jumped out of bed and headed to our sliding glass doors, which were open on a second floor. We need to make changes. We were away last week when he lunged out of bed fighting someone in his dreams, bruised knee, rug burn from sliding across the room on his forehead! SCARY!
I replied to this thread earlier but I’ve had more instances in the past couple weeks. A week ago I saw an intruder in our bedroom and tackled it headfirst. Of course it turned out to be my bedroom dresser and not an intruder. I am on a high dose of Klonopin already and will be seeing my sleep doctor for further recommendations. PD is a shape shifting disease and this is yet another adjustment that I must make. God give me the grace to endure it faithfully.
