Does anyone know what effect the corona virus might have on those of us that have DBS? Are we more at risk than the general public?
My Daughter is 43 years old and I have some helpful stuff she posted on Facebook you might want to know about the Virus.....

"My Daughter" Wendy Love Williams Day shared something very important this evening on her Facetime Page. This hit close to home and it has information EVERYONE needs to know.............I copied and pasted it on my Facetime page...
I was, finally, able to take a Covid-19 test. It was positive. I feel blessed that I was able to get tested. Everytime I experienced a new symptom, I messaged my doctor. My doctor has been checking on me, everyday. So many are having difficulties trying to get tested. I just wanted to share with ya'll the symptoms I have experienced.
First, I thought it was allergies. I awoke at 5 am with severe chills. I had 101 fever. For the rest of the day, I stayed in bed with chills, sweating, aches and a severe headache. That was the worst part, the headache and aches. I would put pressure on my eyes in hope of alleviating the pain. My legs hurt so bad. I couldn't sleep because of the muscle pain. My fever was never over 101.3. Other symptoms that I experienced was loss of smell/taste, being really hot but no fever then sweating profusely, severe diarrhea for 3 days, loss of appetite and a heaviness in my lungs when I breathed in deep.
I am on the mend. My nose continues to be my only symptom. It just feels a little stuffy. I can smell and taste, now. Other than that, I am a ball of life...like always. lol To me, it was like a twisted flu.
Symptoms that I never had: lack of being able to breath, sore throat and dry cough
My family is great. Jacob had a low fever for a day. Joshua has been fine and, well, I consider my husband to be Iron Man. lol
Social distancing is serious. This virus is showing its face in multiple ways and symptoms. God Bless and love each other.
According to Parkinson’s uk having pd doesn't make us more vulnerable if we got coronavirus and needed hospital treatment we Might have to switch our dbs system off for any tests that are done which might interfere with the equipment eg if and ECG is required to check our hearts out dbs interferes so switch off let them run test and then once its finished switch on.THEY MUST CONTACT YOUR DBS SPECIALIST TO GET ADVICE. I spoke with my dbs specialist in London on Friday and this advice come directly from him. This gentleman is the UKs top neurologist so he Really knows his stuff.
My son, the doctor said the most vuknerable are those with a compromised or vulnerable immune system. He also said the story of the virus is an evolving one. He said the respiratory droplets from a sneeze can travel 6 feet...he said stay at least 6 get away from coughing, sneezing people and cover your mouth and wash your hands when you sneeze.
Thank you for sharing💕
I have asthma, and am not having any problems, started taking my medications now, just to be safe.
I also got a flu shot and a pneumonia shot. I don’t know if this will help if I am exposed to the virus or if I do get the virus it will not be as bad.
Hope everyone has a great day,
Carole
