My husband has PD. He has been having momentary blackout spells when he sits. No, he doesn’t get dizzy. It’s like he temporarily zones out, say about 30 seconds to a minute, & then the upper part of his body is temporarily weak. Does anyone else experience something like this? Trying to figure out how to explain it to his neurologist. It doesn’t happen when standing, only when sitting & can happen several times in an hour’s span.
Before parkinsons i taught classrooms of 30 children Or more and Pursued, pursued and achieved. 2 Masters degrees, Magnum Cume Laude In four years. So stress and anxiety. I had really no time for them. Lol. When my neurologist. The one that first diagnosed me And found out I was going to be a principle. The only principle of a large elementary school in the Navajo Reservation. He actually tried to discourage me. Because he said Parkinson's. Is exacerbated by stress. You won't feel the effects of it now. But soon it will get to the point where. Your body will react. To stress. By pulling all this stops. He was so right. I've talked to health care workers about my. Dizziness. And the ones who work with Parkinson's patients Say that's very common. To have. Different readings. Blood pressure readings. Especially when you're stressed about something. And tolerance for stress. Goes way down. As you progress in this disease. But I think you're looking at.
Orthostatic Hypotension
A drop in blood pressure during rapid changes in body position (e.g., from sitting to standing). This can produce dizziness or light-headedness.
My mother happens mostly in the morning and when she is walking. When they first began she could tell when she was going to have a "spell". Now she doesn't know and can't remember having one. Dr. put her on medication to raise her blood pressure and things have improved not as many "spells".
I don’t think it’s anxiety with my husband.
I’m going to start logging his blood press & see if that might be it.
Yes, but I think it might be connected to the anxiety we are feeling at this time.
