Yes, since I’ve had PD I have become very sensitive to noise - any noise. And I startle easier. The worst noise is the turn signal in the cars.

Dolly4 I too have hyper hearing and have since early childhood and also startle really easily. I t has gotten worse with PD so I am constantly reacting to normal household sounds. If anyone is unloading the dishwasher I put in ear buds and soft music. Dishes clattering on the quartz island are the worst!

I have always had a heightened startle reflex and what was diagnosed as hyper acuity from childhood. I can hear my grandkids whisper from another room. I can’t blame age or PD. My husband is very hard of hearing so he is always turning up the volume and I am turning it down. We laugh about it keeping us busy!

My husband has PD. I have noticed many times his sensitivity to noise. This was not there years ago, so I do attribute to Parkinson's. Sometimes I can just move a chair in the same room as him, and he reacts.

Yes I agree too - it males ,y ears vibrate. I want music that is soothing and helps me relax. All this loud music is going to cause a huge loss of hearing for the next generation. Will also make hearing aids very profitable.
