Anyone Here Suffer From Severe Toe And Foot Curling?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My curling gets so bad I can't walk and must wait until I can take my next med dose.

I hate to wear socks and shoes. I go bare footed even in winter. Yesterday, I hit my big toe and half my toe nail came off. Man I hurts, but not enough to make me wear shoes. My toes tend to curl under ever once in awhile. When I try to walk I fall down if I'm not thinking about it. I refuse to wear house shoes. I walk out side even when it's cold bare footed. My mom would give me a can of comet and scrub brush at the start of school and tell me to do something about my feet. LOL

I have had this for years!! Its crippling and painful. I have found that keeping your feet warm is very important-never go barefoot!!
Soak your feet in very warm water as soon as the sensation starts. I actually got heated socks and it helped tremendously. Use a heating pad on low wrapped around your feet. Ropinirole really helps also but you have to not skip any doses. Im so sorry for anyone with this its just awful!! KEEP YOUR FEET WARM!!!!

I want to thank all those who took the time to comment on my toe curling problem. It was nice to know that I'm not the only one with this problem and that the probable cause is a low medication. Unfortunately, when my toe curling problem occurs it is 4 in the morning. I'm not due for my first daytime medication dosage until 6 a.m. I think part of the problem is that my nighttime medication runs out too soon as I took it at 9 PM the previous night. At my doctor's suggestion I'm taking a half a tab when I first get up. This helps a little. When I see my neuro next month I plan to discuss a schedule change.

OK @Roxie30 This is what has worked for me. My right toes curl, and I stand on the right side of this foot . When I'm standing still alot. So when I take a bath and soak I pull up on my toes, when I exercise 3x's a week with a group we do toe raises stand on toes then back to standing on heals, this has healed me so much that my toes have almost quit curling. A podiatrist told me this years ago it has worked. stretch out them babies
it feels good also. Hugs Rosie P.S. I Am Still standing on the side of my foot. 😬

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I get curling and twisting of my feet but usually only in the morning which leads me to believe that it has something to do with fact that I have no medication in my system yet. Once my meds kick in, my feet relax. I hope all the suggestions you received help you!
