I have Parkinson's for about 12 years. I started losing weight after a few years and then it stopped for a while. Now i'm losing weight very fast, a few pounds a month. I'm much too thin and look underweight. I don't have any other symptoms to cause the weight loss. I eat normally and have a very appetite. I am a 63 year old woman.l How common is it to lose weight with PD?

Hi Ginny. I have dyskinesias almost constantly and my doctor absolutely denies that the weight loss is from them. My sense of smell and taste are normal and i''m always eating. No problem with eating.

Because of taking Kynmobi, I have weight lost as well due to no appetite and vomiting a lot. Do you take some medications that cause weight lost?

Just shaking constantly burns calories which can lead to weight loss. Some people also find that their sense of smell and taste change with PD, so they aren't hungry. Depression or being more stationary can also mean they aren't as hungry.
