In the past, we have had EXTRA FIRM and I am getting ready to order another. It's been over 10 years. I vaguely remember ordering it over the phone and I said, do you have extra, extra firm (this was before husband's PD -- I really love firm) and the mattress guy said well I have what we call a hospital mattress but some people don't like it because it's taller --- once my husband was diagnosed in 2013, I began to see that the height helps him get in and out of bed and until it started sagging this year, the firm surface allows him to do his lying down PT exercises in bed. However, extra firm is not for everyone. My husband is in constant pain and doesn't say much about it. We both are always kind of shocked at how soft and mushy most hotel mattresses are.
