this is the scariest part of PD. Is it generally mild, severe. Will I not recognize loved one and wander off in the night or just loose the remote
From what I understand of the cognitive decline with Parkinsons, it is different than Alzheimer's. With Parkinsons, the loss involves difficulty with executive functioning which involves organizing, planning, and completion of tasks. Includes attempting to do multiple tasks at the same time. With Alzheimer's, a person loses the capacity to recognize family members.Alzheimers seems to progress much faster than cognitive changes with Parkinsons. Take care!

Yes, I have found that I have progressive difficulty reading, concentrating, short term memory with word finding. I am still able to enjoy books on Audible books. Changes in cognitive functioning has been one of the most surprising aspects of Parkinsons.
Hi Dale, that's just scary for me. Reading is my favorite thing to do. If I lost that ability it would be devasting.
