My dad has had problems with his mouth for over a year now. He always thinks he has something in there. For example right now he said it feels like there are 3 fingers stuck in his throat. You’re father should be someplace where they can protect him from himself while they diagnose this issue, I’ve never heard of this, but it does sound like something Parkinson’s could create.

Wow that is scary! I've heard that if you go to speech therapy, the therapist can show the caregiver and PD person a lot of techniques to deal with swallowing issues and uncomfortable throat issues. Or is it primarily a delusion. Holding you close at HEART.

Hi Keri! I hope you read this. My dad has the same thing. Every day he suffers thinking he has a variety of things in his mouth (paper clips, straps, wires, etc.) and sometimes they extend to his feet or even outside of his body. They can wrap around his legs or create webs on his hands. Cenesthopathy is what it is as far as I can tell. No doctor seems to know what it is or how to treat it.
