A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My mom was a very active person. She was taken off all her Parkinson’s medication bc it was effecting her mind. She has mobility but has been in a bed for 7 months feeling she can’t do anything. He therapists felt her mind is stopping her but her body could. She had a stomach ulcer when in the hospital that they found and I have done research about h pylori effecting people a lot more with Parkinson’s. Now they are testing for h pylori through blood bc my mom wouldn’t be able to do the breath… read more

Thank you for your message. She has now woken up out of this horrible mental place she was in. Now she is extremely depressed bc her once very active body is stuck in a bed and she feels that she can’t do anything when she can try. She says she can’t. I am moving her out to me with help bc she is not mobile and doesn’t eat. She eats through a feeding tube. This woman used to be a tennis player and would love trying new food. The Parkinson’s medication really did a number on her. I feel they didn’t up her dose slow enough. They did it to fast. I am sorry you are loosing your thoughts. Maybe record your conversations. I am sorry you lost your husband. My mom did as well. We lost my dad who was her rock almost ten years ago. It’s crazy how time flies. Being ten years. Be well and thank you for responding

I wonder why her doctor take over all of her Parkinson's medicines if it causes her to be bedridden. They saying activity is worse but Parkinson's are going to keep moving. The medicine is really wrecked having with my mind too I can't remember anything when I'm talking to people I have to ask him what we would talk about It just sucks. And I lost my husband 5 months before I got done we know but it wasn't official yet. This therapy that she can get that helps with memory and cognitive issues but yes affect your mind. Good luck I hope you can find out what works for Mom.
