Members responded with heartfelt solidarity to the question about experiencing days filled with rest, tremors, and overwhelming Parkinson's symptoms, with many confirming that these difficult days are a familiar and painful reality. Several members shared personal coping strategies, including sticking to a routine, staying physically active when possible, prayer, essential oils for stress relief, and leaning on faith to get through the hardest moments. A recurring theme was the comfort found in community understanding, especially for those whose families struggle to grasp the unpredictability of Parkinson's, and the importance of seeking a movement specialist for a second opinion when feeling unsupported by current care.

Yes - way too frequently. I do better if I force myself to be active, ignore the PD, & do things I enjoy. (Easier said than done!)

A second opinion would be going to a neurologist who is a movement specialist. There are some tests to rule in or out other conditions that may be causing your symptoms. Also , this could lead to some medications that would help improve your condition.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member is dealing with debilitating symptoms and he's being told that there's nothing that could be done for him. From my perspective, he has nothing to lose by seeking the opinion of another neurologist.

Hi CindyA2,
DBS is the acronym that stands for Deep Brain Stimulation. You can search on the site, to read more about the procedure, how it is performed and read about the outcome from one’s who have chosen this procedure.
It’s not for me, but some Parkinson’s patients do find relief from this relentless disease. 🙏🙏🙏
