I have read on several European Parkinson's websites that many have benefited taking Domperidone 30 minutes before meals. Apparently with Parkinson's, it is quite common to have slow stomach emptying and bowel problems. This drug would speed things along but not give a person diarrhea. The drug does not have the blessing of the FDA and is currently obtained through a compounding pharmacy in the US or purchased through online pharmacies in Canada, or elsewhere at the present time.
I've been taking two magnesium tablets at night before bed and that seems to have really helped!! Plus more water
Hi, I have been taking domperidone since 2013 three times a day, sometimes 4 times. I am taking it for gastroparesis (stomach and bowels do not want to empty on their own. One year ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's (early stage) but have few of the typical conditions yet. Domperidone definitely helps with motility, nausea especially, bloating, stomach emptying and a little with constipation. I still need to take a special fiber (acacia) to help with bowel movements. I love Heather's Tummy Fiber which I buy on Amazon. You need to take it every day for the best benefits. I buy my drug from Inhouse Pharmacy which is out of the country and have for over 10 years with no problems. They have very good pricing and they list who the manufacturers are (some are major brands) and when each of the manufacturer's drugs will expire. I generally purchase at least 6 months at a time and during Covid 12 months since deliveries of everything was slower. After being on domperidone as long as I have been my Prolactin blood levels have become elevated but my PCP just monitors them yearly now.
Best of luck to you.
I found that if I eat or drink mangoes daily or every other day it really helps my bowels
