I have hip and back pain. Worse in the morning. I think I need a new mattress as mine is old and too firm. Any recommendations?

Because of my size and weight I was always told and sold FIRM mattresses. Bad sleep all the time. About 4 years ago I bought a mattress on line from Walmart....super soft.
I've never slept better. My hips and shoulder sinks in but, my back stays straight. I mostly sleep on one side or the other.
