Hi Stephan: I've tried from time to time Melatonin which works sometimes. However, the very best suggestion I read on this site is made by a fellow who says " sleep like a dog". If you've ever observed a dog sleeping, they just collapse into sleeping position without wallowing and adjusting a pillow without worry and peacefully lie sleeping deeply. I thought that sounded worthwhile. So I pull back the covers and collapse in my bed, close my eyes and hear only subtle sounds of outside birds and bugs or inside noises like my dog's breathing or just white noise. I don't move but stay in comfortable sleeping position and put up the black curtain (or any color you choose) in my mind to block bothersome thoughts and worrying, and shortly I'm 😴 asleep and usually sleep soundly all night. If I have to get up to use bathroom during the night, I collapse back into dog mode and fall asleep. If you have trouble blocking the mind, breathe deep and concentrate only on your breaths. Try it, practice, and have a good night's sleep. 😊
