Hi Sharon not trying to echo Eric's comments but it is the truth, There are days when I would rather sit in my recliner and watch tv all day, but I have a schedule and stick to it. My plans follow the schedules of Daily Dose PD they have one or two workouts daily that I do and at 7 pm each day I do a speech and swallowing class on line while riding a stationary bike and I also have other pieces of equipment to work out with along with free weights. I get at least two hours of exercise daily again lots of times I could easily stay seated but I know the importance of working out. So please for your own benefit get up and walk down the street or join up with a support group. Good luck.

This is an article from the resources section of this site. You and everyone who can responded should read. Everyone with Parkinson’s is tired. Fatigue is far different.

Parkinson’s fatigue Never goes away. It’s debilitating, and I haven’t run across anything that helps.

The well intentioned members who suggested exercise were right. Not because it will help with fatigue, it will not. However it will help with just about everything else.

You’re not exercising to help with fatigue. You’re exercising so you don’t lose your ability to walk talk and function.

Feel free to talk to me anytime. I know EXACTLY how you feel.

Hi Sharon, I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I firmly believe that getting physical exercise, even as simple as a short walk around the block, helps with depression and apathy. We all face it from time to time, so don't feel isolated. For me, I always feel better, physically AND emotionally, after some form of exercise. Just make sure you pick something that you can do and that is enjoyable for you. Just walking with a friend gives you not only a physical lift but an nice way to spend 30 minutes.

Keep up the good fight, Sharon! And remember...NEVER SURRENDER!!!!!
