Do You Take Mirapex?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have been on Mirapex for a while now and I haven't seen anything about it on this site. I'm just curious because:

"Mirapex belongs to a class of drugs known as dopamine agonists. These drugs stimulate the dopamine receptors in the brain and mimic the effects of dopamine at the receptors. This helps compensate for the absence of the neurotransmitter dopamine in patients with Parkinson's disease."

Miraplex is also called primipexole and I was prescribed it by my neurologist and I take it four times a day and have for many years and it works for me but that doesn't mean it works for everyone you have to see your neurologist and they have to prescribe it for you. ❀️.

Donna, did your Neurologist recommend Mirapex for you?

Beware, taking a drug and/or a certain dosage of said drug that was recommended by someone else's Neurologist/Doctor may not be the correct drug for you.
Lastly, don't forget this site is a social site not a medical recommendation site.

Thanks y'all !!
I appreciate your responses πŸ€—
I'm concerned about the weight gain πŸ˜• I have an appointment with my neurologist/MDS later and I have my notes ready. I also fall asleep out of the blue...not fun. I get very sleepy throughout the day πŸ™„
I definitely think I need a change πŸ‘
Ya know I do understand that I could get this information from my doctor or a medical site as some of you've suggested. I, however, like to use this site for some things and will continue to do so. To each his own.
Smile,

Hello Jack πŸ‘‹
My neurologist/MDS prescribed the Mirapex. I would never take a drug unless prescribed. Thank you so much for the information you provided! It's wonderful 😊
I hope you are having a great week...
Smile,
Donna 😁
