Thanks very much, for all long time I had sharp pain in my left rhomboid area. I have several exercises from my PT that combined help it. I've had cortisone on other places over the yrs and when they get it in the exact spot it works for months, and yes it hurts going in. Keep moving & encouraging folks.
I have had subacromial bursitis in both shoulders. My right shoulder started hurting about a year ago. I tried heat, ice, various lotions & potions, rest, physical therapy, etc.... nothing helped my shoulder pain. I went to my primary care physician and told him about it and he pushed here and there, took an x-ray and said it's subacromial bursitis otherwise known as shoulder impingement.
He left the room and come back in with a hefty syringe filled with a mixture of steroid and pain medication. He felt around for a certain spot, which was the most tender and then he injected it directly into my shoulder. He pumped it full and yes the entire process was extremely painful.
However, within hours the pain started to disappear and within days, my shoulder was back to normal.
I lived with that pain for months before learning a valuable lesson. Tell your doctor about any and everything.
That shoulder has been pain free for over a year. A couple weeks ago, my left shoulder started hurting in a similar fashion as my right had the year prior.
I didn't reach for the lotions & potions or even mention it to my physical therapist this time.
Nope, called my pcp and went in, told him of the issue. He poked and proded my shoulder, grabbed his syringe and filled the left shoulder with the same concoction.
Pain gone, problem solved. Shoulder impingement is common among antique humans. Most of the time, relief is just a shot away.
