How Does It Feel When You Fall
I have fallen a couple of times. I get no warning. Instead; I get pressure in my forehead, then I faint/black out then come to when I'm on the ground. Does this happen to anybody else?
Hi Shelley Duncan,
It's nice to meet you.
I fall a lot. The only advice I have is you might consider a helmet.
Amazon.com keywords: Helmet, head, protection, elderly.
I invite you to have a look at my story page. I have many useful ideas there. Just press on my name, and it will pop up.
Love, Jeri
If you're blacking out, it could by orthostatic hypotension. Talk to your doctor.
The fall is ok, it just hurts when you stop 😁
Hi Shelley, Thanks for asking such a great question. I went through a phase several months long when I kept falling. I had no warning and it felt like the floor was gone. I only passed out once but since I had no warning, I often fell on my face without using my hands to break the fall. I often got a look from others wondering why I didn't put my hands up to break the fall. I couldn't find the words to explain I had no warning or even a thought of preventing the fall. I didn't even know I was falling until I had to get up. I just went down.
I latter learned this was medication induced and once we managed that, that kind of falling has stopped.
Please be sure to tell your doctor about this and be sure he/she looks into it and doesn't put it under the category of 'something that just happens to people with PD'. Praying for you. ...And welcome to our community.
