Hi wella, Bean, Francis and Renee thanks for answering my question about DBS love and hugs RobynSA
I went through all the hoops and had the surgeons agreement that DBS was the way to go for me. The medical aid said "No:" They said i needed to try other pharmaceutical options instead. I was not impressed. In the end I'm glad I didn't have it as I ended up in hospital with a bad back and after that was fixed and my medication reduced my dykinesia was greatly improved!
Hi Renee. Thank you so much for answering my question your information and advice are most I helpful. Have agreat day. Hiugs will be quicker.🤗🤗😘
I had my DBS put in on my birthday 4-2-55 and my DBS was in 4-2-2018 and had good results my tremors are gone and do have dykenisa but that’s all the years of taking the other meds. I have a few other things to but you have to work on oneself to. I’m having surgery and I pray I can do better. Right knee replacement.
Hi RobynSA, I had DBS in October 2019 and it took me quite some time to find a program good for me. My main concern for going in for the DBS was my curling toes which were extremely painful. The DBS took care of that problem. I still have some dyskinesia and developed some other symptoms such as anxiety and get extremely fatigued on OFF times. Dr Kelly Foote did my surgery here in Florida. He works with Michael Okun. Both are very good. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them for you. Have a great day. Bean
