My ex-husband’s PD is definitely progressing and, at least to me, at a rapid pace. His blood pressure is the biggest problem and after trying many meds, nothing seems to work. Now he tells me that he’s having balance problems not related to blood pressure. He knows he’s going to fall so stays on carpeted surfaces. He’s losing weight because he stays out of the kitchen because it isn’t carpeted.

Being ill and not having money or assets is so burdensome and upsetting. Hang in there. Things usually get better
Sorry, I can’t help with Medicaid but you can purchase a soft helmet on Amazon for under $35 so your husband can visit the kitchen again. I saved my head several times with one. Falls are going to happen eventually
There should be a local agency that deals with Senior issues or financial assistance. Try calling 211 or your local social services office. If you have a Senior Center or Social Security office in your area they might be able to help.
He's not a Veteran (God bless your husband). He lives in a decent apartment but is virtually destitute with no money, investments or anything of value. He has a car which he leases. My son has to supplement his rent. So if there's a cost to anything, that would be a no.
Like you, we couldn't seem to figure out how to get some actual in-home help. And then, we discovered my husband's VA benefits will do just that. Praise God, the help is long overdue!
