Exercise definitely helps. I do 6 sessions at the YMCA and I help my daughter at her bakery 3 days. I had an appointment with my neurologist just before I left for vacation and she was quite pleased with my progress. I have my off days but I have more good days than bad. 😊

Exercise does slow down the progression of Parkinson's disease so it is the most important thing you can do for yourself. Once you do it regularly, and stretches, you will notice more energy and want to exercise more. My husband used a recumbent bike in our home for 30-45 minutes a day (after building up slowly). He also walked with his walker and did some strength exercises. If weather was prohibitive, we would walk around a route we set up in the house. I was lucky, even when he didn't want to exercise, he would do it with a little prodding from me. I know everyone isn't that cooperative so if your patient isn't, find ways to motivate them. Motivation is very important.

Same, Billy6, I have so much trouble with my balance
It makes it impossible to walk with my walker without feeling like I will fall. However, all the books and literature I have read say that exercise slows down the progression of Parkinson's. So, I am exercising 35 minutes daily by riding my recumbent bike. I have also asked my doctor about physical therapy. He has sent a referral. I am excited to begin that. I have noticed that after I exercise, I feel better, and my symptoms improve.
It is a disease that we fight with every day. It gets tiring.
I apologize for the rant. It was more for me than you.
I (We ) have to keep on fighting.
