I don't suppose there's anyone here from the UK that's as stupid as I am ? It's funny you know, I write something like that and expect scores to reply 'no me neither ' but you never do, you're to kind
So I didn't officially surrender my driving licence, I just didn't apply after the 3 years expired because of my circumstances. It wasn't a priority at that time. Now however 6 years later, reviewed meds, in a different mental place it would be nice to at least have the option to do short local… read more

After reading about renewing drivers license yes, no. I thought I would renew it just in case. I don't own a car currently, mine was demolished last year while parked, and don't know if I w get another but I might want to rent one in the future just to be able to do something on my own.
I have to keep my license. I so enjoy terrifying my wife while she dares to ride with me. 😏
Driver's license? Sure I have one, Phil...just waiting an eternity to see my new Epileptologist to get my okay. It appears that one doctor can put in a word to DMV, and if that okay doesn 't come thru, I guess my lic. will be revoked. Crap. This dependence on others for rides SUCKS big time. I have to shop in a mad rush, can't do any window-shopping, and have to always be sure my med rides give me check-in time (which my last Doctor's office didn;t inform me of till too late!) Rats!!!!!
You are a hoot Teresa! Phil-attitude is a great word! I will use it in the future. Cheers!
Hi Phil, i stopped driving about five years ago and it was the best thing i ever did. there are way to many people who have a drivers license who should not be on the road. here in Florida they are all over the place. my wife and i sat down one day and figured out how much it was costing us to drive a car and it was just crazy. when we looked at how much auto insurance was costing, maintnance on the car, the price of gasoline etc etc not driving saved us a lot of dollars . my wife's Parkinson's also got to the point where she could not get into a car or an S U V . she has been wheel chair bound for the past three years . we are able to get from point A to Point B by using our bus service which has buses to transport wheel chair bound people. if we need medical transport for doctors appointments our insurance covers these rides at no cost. if i am going somewhere on my own i just call Uber or Lyft and the fare is not that much at all. we do spend a lot less money on transportation now than when i was driving all of the time. l know people like to be able to feel freedom when they drive, but this just works out better for us. good luck my friend and happy motoring .
