My symptoms are worse when I eat a lot, better when I don't eat enough. Not just protein; carbs, veggies, anything

Members connected over the question of whether eating less helps manage Parkinson's symptoms, with many sharing that smaller, more frequent meals tend to feel more manageable than large ones. Several members opened up about serious challenges like dramatic weight loss after COVID, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, acid reflux, and aspiration risks, with practical suggestions including seeing a gastroenterologist and a speech therapist for swallowing concerns. A recurring theme was the unpredictable and wide-ranging nature of Parkinson's, met with fierce community solidarity and encouragement to keep fighting.

Nigel2... I did say Every nerve you ever had...in uter??? 🤔
I find myself thinking about the absolute miracle of life and the human body, the human soul. At once soo incredibly strong while delicately fragile. All of it controlled by the brain. In a small way (stay with me here) Parkinson's patients have the 'gift' of appreciation for each and every system. (Ya still with me?) Do not misunderstand...... y'all know, I am chest high in this circus but I am struck by the intricacies of the disease.... especially when it doesn't work 😕 or works when it shouldn't....or the what the hell is ThAT¿??

Hey Colleen957....it has been too long!
Let me catch you up... I have Parkinson's...😮‍💨 I know, it came as a shock to us too 🤫 😆 I am still peeved, I am still a stubborn PIA but my husband has assured me he loves a shakey ol lady, and could never be happy with normal. Well bud, you are in luck!!!🤭 Not sure when I last posted and you read it... but I made it to February of 2025 🥳 woohoo 🙌
How are you doing??

I eat several small meals or snacks rather than full meals as I become full very quickly. Perhaps a piece of fruit in the am and then a few crackers and tea a few hours later. This was at the suggestion of a nutritionist when I was finding it difficult to eat. Since none of my meds require working around timing of meals this works for me and helps me maintain my weight.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member speaks the truth. It bugs me that the disease seems to have direct control over parts of my body that I do not and never did have!
