Yes, many people with Parkinson's take probiotics to help with their symptoms. Several MyParkinsonsTeam members have shared their experiences with probiotics, though their results have varied. Some members report taking them for over a year but are unsure if they've noticed significant changes, while others have found them helpful for specific symptoms like upset stomach and balance.
Probiotics work by putting beneficial microbes into your stomach and intestines, which can help support gut health, improve digestion, and maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in your digestive system. Some research has shown promising results for specific probiotic strains like PS128, particularly for motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease. However, before starting any probiotic supplement, it's important to discuss this with your doctor. They can provide guidance on which types might be most beneficial for your specific symptoms.
You can find probiotics in various forms including powders, pills, capsules, or liquids in the nutritional supplements section of stores. When choosing a probiotic, look for products containing beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum.

Hi DianeYocum, I do take Probiotics as well. I am not sure if it helps, but my stomach seems to like them. I don’t know if I will ever get use to taking so many pills.
