Wanda794: CREXONT comes in 4 dose strengths, ranging from 35/140 mg to 87.5/350 mg. The trick is to find the correct dosage and interval between doses. The capsules are a combination of quick and extended release. The first time I took two 70/280's (purple caps) it was as though a miracle had occurred. Not only did my tremors cease, but I was also able to take a few steps for the first time in years. Ah, but then came the rub. The second time I took them my blood pressure dropped to the low 80s, and I passed out cold. Since then, we've been experimenting with dosages. Right now, I'm on one purple 5 times daily. It's not quite right, so when I see my neurologist next, I'm going to suggest a purple and yellow 4 times/day. Overall, it's the best drug I've tried. Cost depends on dosage, Medicare, insurance, etc. Mine runs about $45/month.
Earl McGill. I'm hoping to try Crexont
I felt the same as you when I started taking c/l.. Some days I forgot I had PD! Except for walking with a cane, I also have hip bursitis, I felt good for 1 1/2 years. Then the meds didn't work and I fell down my stairs. After that everything has been worse. I wasn't sure how much more I could take without my dignity. Started Selegiline, after 1 1/2 months my days slowly got better, then huge stress in my life, and back 10 steps. Then I started P.T. and O.T. and continued c/l and Selegiline and feel okay but much off time. I'm ready to try Crexont. My MDS wants to start me on 2 doses 4xs/ day. What is the lowest dose?
Wanda
I have been on Crexont for 6 months and find that it helps my ability to concentrate. They recommend that I take two capsules every 4 hours. Sometimes I need 5 times a day to help with the stress and fatigue that comes with Parkinson. I hope this will work for you. If your insurance won't cover ask the company for help. They are very helpful.
