I use Theraworks Relief. I have a lot of cramping in my legs and toes. I rub the Theraworks on the area and the pain and cramping go away. I believe that the main ingredient is magnesium. I also take a magnesium supplement.

Watch when the cramps occur. Be mindful of your dopamine medication schedule. There may be a direct correlation between the two.

What can help with toe cramps in Parkinson's disease?

Toe cramps and foot clenching are common with Parkinson's and can be quite painful. Here are some strategies that may help:

Immediate Relief:
- Try placing your feet in hot or warm water, as heat often helps relax cramping muscles
- Work on gently unlocking your toes when they clench - some people develop techniques to manually release the cramp

Medications:
Gabapentin may help calm nerve pain and cramping in the feet. It's worth discussing with your doctor if foot cramps are significantly affecting your quality of life.

Physical Therapy:
A physical therapist can create a personalized exercise plan that may help reduce cramping. They can also recommend specific stretches and at-home therapies like applying heat or cold packs when cramps occur.

Exercise:
Regular exercise for at least 30 minutes daily can help improve Parkinson's symptoms overall, including muscle-related issues like cramping.

The cramping might be related to dystonia - when your foot tries to curl or clench due to Parkinson's. Always let your doctor know about troubling symptoms like this, as adjusting your Parkinson's medications might also help.
