I do not exercise. Everyday guilt ridden b/c I know the value of exercise and movement. Feel exhausted moving. Snowed in.
Has anyone else experienced feeling stuck or unable to start exercising despite knowing its benefits?
You're definitely not alone in feeling this way. Many people with Parkinson's struggle with the same guilt and exhaustion when it comes to exercise. Feeling exhausted from movement is a real challenge, not a personal Show Full Answer
When you're snowbound, you can still exercise. Online there are videos for yoga or seated stretching and lots of exercise videos for PWP. Or try putting on some favorite music and dancing. Nobody is watching, so do what you can just to move your body.
My exercise is very limited after steroid injections but will begin PT for my shoulder in a week or so. I do exercises in bed though and I agree that you just need to move.
Wow if you read my message please know I meant apathetic instead of pathetic!!!
My husband w/PD used to lift weights but now he feels pathetic. Why bother he says. He does go to PT 2x per week. Thank God for that. Other times he really doesn't do much at all. I do ask him to wash lunch dishes if he feels good enough. Sometimes yes most times no. I feel that at least gets him outta his chair once and awhile.
