I'm struggling with doing Christmas cards. No matter how slowly and deliberately I try to write, it sometimes just comes out as an awful mess. Very frustrating.

For many years I mass produced a Christmas letter complete with pictures and stories for a large mailing list. As a graphic artist I knew tricks of the trade that could make the task pretty easy. I eventually stopped sending all together. But then this year when I got cards from people and all they did was sign their name I thought that if I appreciate receiving a bare bones card, that others will too. I reduced my list down to family members and I wrote my greeting by hand. I was very grateful to have that special heavyweight pen, although I still make a mess of some of the cards. 😊 I just wanted to send out a card that was more personal by including my "signature." There were a few people that I included a longer typed note. And I'm leaving the addressing of the envelopes to my husband. He lucked out yesterday because I found a bunch of return address stickers, just the right amount, in fact! 😊 It took all afternoon but it was a nice way to spend it, thinking about Christmas and pleasant things. And for once my body corporated!

We used to do a Christmas letter on nice holiday paper. You could speak your text to the computer, edit it, and print it out on your home printer.

At this point, so few people exchange cards I've stopped as well.

Why not just print out your notes and include it with the card. You could make it as long or short as you'd like. I'm making the assumption that you have a printer available, or buy a cheap one for less than $50.

I don't have the terrible writing problems, yet; however, I do have times when I cannot write at all or my writing gets smaller and smaller in the same word. I have found that I have good times when I can write without a problem. I use my "no problem " times to write letters, send payments, or to type. Maybe changing from writing to crocheting, knitting, photos, cooking, etc. and then back to writing a couple of hours later. Thanks, Cortha
