I was having a drop in on time after 4 hours, this was to extend it. Do you take it at the same time as levadopa? Do you have any side effects? Does it help?
Thanks for your input!

Hi Billie! Entacapone is a great question to bring to the community. It belongs to a class of medications called COMT inhibitors, which work by slowing the breakdown of levodopa in the bloodstream — meaning more of it reaches the brain and its effects last longer. So yes, it makes total sense that it was prescribed to help Show Full Answer
I have just started taking it. I am not seeing anything yet, only a week and a half. The only issue was nausea that is a issue when starting a new drug. Hoping for the best!
My husband has been taking two a day for about 8 months with no side effects. He takes one in the morning with his c/l and one in the afternoon with another dose. He takes his c/l as two 100 mg. pills five times a day.
Be careful, has a list of contraindicated meds, be sure to check compatibility!! I got worsening dyskinesia from it and from beginning seemed to make my more fatigued than less!! I gave it a real chance of a little more half a year, mainly because my neurologist kept saying it has an adjustment period ... and yes, you take it with your c/l .... well, I never adjusted and the extreme dyskinesia made the decision for me!! It's a med you can't just quit, phase out period didn't go horrible ... my body was happy it was going, going, gone!!! This is just my experience and I'm sure it works for others ... either way, good luck and stay blessed!!!
