Members rallied around the question of whether others experience days with no energy to do anything, with an overwhelming response that these sluggish, off days are a very common part of living with Parkinson's. Several members shared coping strategies like keeping a short to-do list with small rewards, staying safe while moving around the house, adjusting medication schedules, and giving themselves permission to rest without guilt. A recurring theme was the importance of self-compassion, with many noting that pushing too hard often leads to worse symptoms, and that resting today is itself a meaningful way to prepare for a better tomorrow.

Yes and you should do nothing when that happens. Good days are ahead and you need to rest up for them

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, Some days are better than others, but I think overall, I'm generally digressing, doing less than I was. I thought that my GI problem were holding me back, maybe they are, but my GI symptoms are getting a little better, and yet, I find myself more tired than ever, even though I'm sleeping better. I don't feel as if I can talk to my neurologist, because all she wanted to do was accuse me of something I didn't do. I don't really know what to do about this.

Kathleen ,
Yes , unfortunately we all have off days now and then and all you can do is rest . I find myself trying not to concentrate on the bad days or off days and focus more on the good days that i've had . With this disease , you need to stay focused and positive and it doesn't hurt to pray 🙏 ... 🤍

@JudithScottJohnson, I figure that resting today so that I have strength to do something necessary tomorrow is accomplishing something today.

Yes I think we all do have such days. WE should really try and do something! Exercise - Parkinsons have a lot of stuff on youtube. Try writing down 1 or 2 things a day that you are grateful for, it does help to encourage positivity. Taking that 1st step is key. Join a local PD group. Mix with like minded people. You can do it! Let us know how you get on! Michael
