For years my husband wore a beard. A few years ago he shaved it off for one of his dermatology appointments and has been clean shaven ever since. He doesn't have much of a tremor and it's mostly a resting tremor so I don't think shaving will be a big issue, but if it is, neither of us would have an issue with him regaining his beard.

I struggle with the same thing. I miss a lot of spots now also but I think that's because I can't seem to focus my eyes like I used too

That's a really valid concern, and you're definitely not alone in thinking about it. Tremors and changes in fine motor control can make tasks like shaving more challenging over time with Parkinson's.
The good news is there are some practical strategies and tools that can help keep you shaving independently for as long as possible:
- Electric razors are a popular switch — they're generally safer and easier to control with shaky hands
- Weighted razor handles can help reduce the effect of tremors
- Sitting down while shaving adds stability and reduces fall risk
- Suction cup handles or grab bars near the sink can give extra support
- Shaving in shorter strokes with frequent pauses can help with control
Fine motor exercises, like those designed to help with bradykinesia (slowness of movement), may also help maintain hand dexterity longer. A physical or occupational therapist can tailor exercises specifically for your needs.
An occupational therapist in particular can be a great resource — they specialize in helping people adapt daily tasks like grooming to stay as independent as possible.
It's worth bringing this up at your next appointment so your care team can offer personalized guidance before it becomes a bigger challenge.
