TINS machines are good for that kind of pain. You place the electrode pads over the painful area and set the level of electrical impulse. I also have fibromyalgia and learned about this machine in the early stages of my diagnosis. It is great for relieving pain. The way it works is to send your brain messages that interrupt the pain message.

My new GP, the first time I saw her when my neck and shoulder were excruciating, diagnosed it as nerve pain. She told me it would not respond to anti inflammatory meds or paracetamol and codeine. She prescribed "Lyrica" which according to packaging is PREGABALIN. I had to increase the dose to 75 mg before it went away completely. Don't know if it's useful, but perhaps check with doctor.

HAve you tried a chiropractor who uses touch rather than manipulation. ?

I had a severe headache then when the pain was so bad but not since my neck and shoulder have improved.
