We need to have a plan in place as Ron gets more debilitated.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, yes, John has been on Donepizil for a year now. It has helped greatly with his cognition...better some days than others. But we still use white board in bathroom to help him remember what he needs to do to get himself ready for the day. And he still struggles with medication times so I monitor that closely.
Has he tried Donepazle? It's for Alzheimer's but my husband takes it because most of his symptoms are cognitive. It work amazing for him.
I lived in an ALF for five years but not for PD. The VA paid most of the rent because of a back problem. There is a Co. called "A Place For Mom" that finds suitable locations in such cases.
We are hoping to keep John at home as long as possible. His mobility is not too bad. His biggest obstacle is the dementia. We are reading up on alternatives but are confused as to what kind of a facility is willing to take a pwp-dementia.
We're you satisfied with level of care there?
