I drive just locally, if I have an appointment in the city I have someone drive me. Also I have noticed it is harder to drive when I have a passenger and they are talking. I guess I can't do two things at once once anymore -drive a car and carry on a conversation.

I talked to my neurologist about this because one time I had an incident where I was driving and didn’t recognize where I was, even though I had made the same drive many times. He said it was still ok to drive, but my husband wants to take me most places and I let him, except when I really need some girl time to go shopping or go to lunch with a friend. Mostly my friend drives.
The best one to talk to about this is your your neurologist or Movement Disorders Specialist if you have one. They can give you the best advice. If you are a caregiver and concerned about your loved one, the neurologist is probably the best one to tell him he can’t do it, rather than you.

I stopped driving a few months ago when I began having difficulty multi-tasking. I had 1 foot on both the brake and gas. Thank God I was in my driveway and no one was harmed. I put the car in park, figured out what I was doing and put the car back in the garage. Since then, my daughter drove me to an empty parking lot (a little role reversal) and I tried again and found myself hesitating when having to check my morrow, turn the wheel in the correct direction and apply the brake or gas peddle and found that multi-tasking skill was gone. I live 11 miles out of town on a winding country rode and don't want to risk harming others. I keep the car because the home care agencies require you to have a care if you hire an aide to take you places, so there my lime green Jeep sits. My daughter uses it to keep it from dying due to lack of use. This really reduced my freedom and independence and changed everything I so but I do believe it was the right time and the right thing to do for me. But, I don't have to be happy about it and I am getting better about zoom appointments with docs and home delivery of meds and groceries. And, my daughter is truly a gift from God. She works 50-60 hrs/wk but still spends one of her 2 days a week taking me anywhere I need to go one of her 2 days off each week. I'm really blessed and grateful for what I do have.
This is a good question. Thanks for asking it.

I love your paintings! So serene and calming. I'm having a difficult time doing any fine motor work because of my dyskinesia. the swaying movements are quite powerful at times and interfere with handwriting, typing and texting. But I used to love to sew things for my children and maybe I can do so again for my grandboy! He arrives in 4 weeks and we are so excited!
