I had one put in , in 2014 It was put in all in one surgery whilst I was asleep I didn’t recover well I was unconscious for 2 days they thought I had a stroke as when I came round I was confused but I quickly rallied round they said it was being with out my Parkinson’s meds the switched me on and I have never looked back I have had 1 battery change 4 years ago I have to charge up daily it takes max 20 mins a day depending on how active I have been and because my mobility is poor and I am not active it takes less than 10 mins if I was asked would I recommend it to others I would say yes in

I had DBS surgery 5 months ago.The surgery went very well and recovery was smooth. It changed my life . I take half the meds I had in the past and no more muscle cramp, stiffness or rigidity. Tremors are not gone but they not as bad. I have faith they will get it programed right.
Thanks Rww, I'm so glad it helped you! It's been recommended by my Dr but she also said I have plenty of time to think about it, so I'm doing my homework! You've been so helpful!
Needtolearn my meds r down to half of what I was taken it took time with the doctor's help on fine tuning my DBS and setting a range for me to turn myself up or down to help control my tremors
