I’m in the process of determining which dosage of RyTary is working best for me. Being newbie I still have more questions than answers. RyTary is extended release and doesn’t cause my stomach upset as the Sine met did. ☺️

My Speech Therapist told me that the Carbidopa/Levidopa dries your mouth which can help somewhat with drooling. She told me to get a Throat Soother called “ Halls Breezers”. It would help with my dry mouth and help with my off and on hoarseness. It is found in the drugstore with the Halls Cough Drops. But it is not a cough drop and is not menthol. It is “Creamy Strawberry” Flavor and is packaged like a cough drop but when you open one it is white with Strawberry running through it & it is delicious. She uses them herself. It is not like hard candy. It is creamy and really helps with dry mouth. However, that is not what Edna is talking about. She has something different called “Burning Mouth Syndrome” it is not what we experience as dry mouth. I take Rytary 2 capsules 3 times a day. He started me on one capsule 3 times a day but it wore off in 4 hrs so he increased my dosage to 2 capsules 3 times a day. For those that don’t know if you can’t tolerate the regular Sinemet (Carbidopa/Levidopa) like I couldn’t. It gives a full dose all at once and I had a violent reaction to it. He took me off of it and I took no meds for 2 mths. Then he asked me to try the Extended Release Carb/Levidopa called Rytary and my body has had no problem with the extended release.
Everyone have a peaceful night.
