Sometimes I feel like I can’t stop, whether it be online shopping or gambling.
Badfrey,
I have also talked with my doctor about this. For me, it's eating. Especially after supper. I start snacking, and I can't stop. Sometimes I don't even realize it. I went to pick up breakfast for my husband and got 6 chocolate donuts also. I tried one when I got in the car, and before I got home, they were all gone!! 😲 Mind you, it was a 15 minute drive!! I was so disappointed in myself! I do take Mirapex, and we discussed it, but I'm staying on it for now, because it does work for me. I used to take ropinarole, but that gave me hallucinations, delusions and paranoia, and I also had Rem sleep disorder, and was acting out my dreams. Sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils.
I don't know if this helped you, but at least you know, you're not alone
Blessings, Karen
Talk to your Dr. about the drugs you use. Are you taking Pramipexole (Mirapex)? This is a dopamine agonist that can be used in Parkinson’s disease and Restless Legs Syndrome.
Dopamine agonists like pramipexole can worsen psychiatric symptoms in some patients by causing hallucinations, and obsessive/compulsive symptoms.
On line shopping is my curse. I will soon get an award for top contributor. That eating thing is ridiculous. First meal middle of afternoon second around 6 or 7 and then it is a steady stream of food from then til the wee hours of the morning! I need my carpet replaced between tv chair and kitchen. I was doing so well. Then something happened and I am starved all the time. No med changes.
Good info Jud! Maybe, people need to contact their Neurologist who may want to refer you to another medical professional who can help you.
