My leg muscles get very tight and achey. Anyone have a remedy?
I use a pill called “Leg Cramps” that I get at Walmart. Cheap and effective.
Keep up with potassium it helps the muscles
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - sometimes we instinctively tense up to try to resist tremors. That can cause tight, achy muscles & even cramps. But it is possible to relax into the tremors, take long, slow breaths (count them, just to hold your attention on relaxing) & even close your eyes if you are in a safe situation to do so. It usually takes me less than 10 minutes to calm the tremors & the tension if I do this. Soothing music also helps. Don't try to hold your legs still, but let them move gently when they need to.
Thanks
My stepson-in-law is a long-distance trucker. He recommends vinegar for leg cramps, both taken internally and rubbed on the cramping spot. It works instantly. He keeps restaurant-sized packs of mustard on his bedstand for night cramps, since it has a high vinegar content. Drinkable apple cider vinegar works too, or any vinegar when it hurts
